Colegio Interamericano
Acceptable Use Policy

The technology resources at Colegio Interamericano exist to support learning for all Students, and to be an employment benefit for Staff and Faculty. Technology resources include computers, networks, the Internet connection, and the associated hardware, software, media, and peripherals. The technology resources at Interamericano are intended to support the education of its students in accordance with the school’s mission statement. This document explains the acceptable use of these technology resources.

Inappropriate use is strictly prohibited for School Faculty, Staff, and Students. School Administration reserves the right to revoke computer privileges for any reason, and to determine what constitutes inappropriate use. The following inappropriate uses are prohibited both on and off campus:

1. Any malicious attempt to harm the school’s computers, network, hardware, or the files of another user
2. Accessing other users’ private information including email or using their passwords
3. Transmitting or publishing any objectionable material including sexually obscene material, abusive or threatening language, vulgarity, or intentionally false or defamatory materials
4. Revealing personal information about you, other students, faculty, or colleagues. Personal information includes pictures, recordings, phone numbers, addresses, passwords, and email addresses.
5. Violating international copyright law, including committing plagiarism or using digital media without permission from the creator
6. Other illegal activities

The following inappropriate uses are prohibited on campus:
7. Student use of email, except when specifically instructed to use email by School Staff for educational purposes
8. Student downloading of any program, music, pictures, or video, except when specifically instructed to by School Staff for educational purposes
9. Downloading or viewing any objectionable material including pornography
10. Any use that consumes excessive network resources, including streaming media
11. Use for profitable commercial activities is generally not acceptable and must be approved by the General Director on a case-by-case basis.

If you feel you can identify a security problem at Colegio Interamericano, you must notify a system administrator. Certain School Administrators and Network Administrators have the right to monitor all Student traffic on the Colegio Interamericano network.

Colegio Interamericano makes no warranties of any kind for the technology access it is providing. The school will not be responsible for any damages users suffer, for example loss of data resulting from delays or interruptions in service. The school will not be responsible for the information stored on diskettes, hard drives, or servers.

Los recursos de tecnología en el Colegio Interamericano existen para apoyar el aprendizaje para todos los estudiantes, y para ser un beneficio de empleo para Maestros y Personal. Los recursos tecnológicos incluyen computadoras, redes, Internet, y el Equipo asociado, Programas, Audiovisuales y periféricos. Los recursos de tecnología en el Colegio Interamericano están intencionados para apoyar la educación de sus estudiantes de acuerdo con lo que estipula la Misión del Colegio. Este documento explica el uso aceptable de estos recursos de tecnología.

El uso inapropiado está estrictamente prohibido para Personal del Colegio, Maestros y Estudiantes. La administración del Colegio se reserva el derecho de revocar los privilegios de computación por cualquier motivo, y de determinar que constituye uso inapropiado. Los siguientes usos inapropiados están prohibidos, Ambos dentro y fuera del Colegio:

1. Cualquier intención maliciosa de perjudicar las computadoras del colegio, la red, Equipo, o los archivos de cualquier otro usuario.
2. Accesar la información privada de otros usuarios incluyendo correo o utilizando sus claves.
3. Transmitiendo o publicando cualquier material objetable, incluyendo material sexualmente obsceno, lenguaje abusivo o retador, vulgaridad, o materiales intencionalmente falsos o difamatorios.
4. Revelar información personal acerca de usted, otros estudiantes, maestros o colegas. La información personal incluye fotos, grabaciones, números telefónicos, direcciones, claves y direcciones de correo.
5. Violando las leyes internacionales de Derecho, incluyendo cometer plagio o uso de medios digitales sin el permiso de su autor.
6. Otras actividades Ilegales.

Los siguientes usos inapropiados están prohibidos En el Colegio:
7. Que el estudiante use correo, excepto cuando sea específicamente instruido por personal del Colegio para propósitos educativos.
8. Que el estudiante descargue cualquier programa, música, fotos o video, excepto cuando específicamente sea instruido de hacerlo por personal del colegio para propósitos educativos.
9. Descargando o viendo cualquier material objetable incluyendo pornografía.
10. Cualquier uso que consuma los recursos de la Red excesivamente, incluyendo programas de uso en línea.
11. El uso para actividades de beneficio comercial generalmente no es aceptable y debe de ser aprobado por el Director General caso por caso.

Si usted siente que puede identificar un problema de seguridad en el Colegio Interamericano, usted debe notificarlo al Administrador de Sistemas. Algunos administradores del Colegio y administradores de sistemas tienen el derecho de monitorear todo el trafico en la red del estudiante en el Colegio Interamericano.

El Colegio Interamericano no garantiza de ninguna manera el acceso tecnológico que esta proveyendo. El Colegio no se hará responsable por ningún daño que los usuarios sufran, por ejemplo la perdida de datos resultantes por retrasos o por interrupciones en el servicio. El Colegio no se hará responsable por la información guardada en disquetes, Discos duros o servidores.
